I have a question about physiological/congenital phimosis (i.e. an adult male who has *never* been able to retract his foreskin at any point in his life).
In the case of acquired or pathological phimosis, my understanding is that the phimosis is secondary to distal scarring (e.g. BXO, balanitis).
However, in the case of physiological phimosis that does not naturally resolve and persists into adulthood (beyond 18 years old), what exactly is the cause of the phimosis? Do adult men with physiological/congenital phimosis also have scarring? Or is their phimosis due to adhesions between the foreskin and glans that haven't released?
